SoulPainting Workshop Early Summer 2019 – Sold Out

The workshop will take place the weekend of June 8th + 9th, 2019. 

 This workshop is good for both beginners or intermediate skill level. One day we will paint botanicals in an intuitive mixed media style, the next day we will paint muses to create intention and beauty. You will have completed 2 paintings by the end of our time together. Explore painting and mixed media in an intuitive and intentional style that is healing, joyful, and freeing for yourself in this sweet weekend workshop!

Come gather on my land and paint in my studio to experience the sweetness of Appalachian early summer and in the magic of Asheville! Come a day early or stay later and soak it all in. Ooooh this is truly my favorite way to gather and share with you!

Come stay in magical and alive Asheville, NC in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoy an enriching weekend workshop with Alena! Our mini-painting retreat will take place at Alena’s homestead, working studio, and piece of land heaven. Last retreat we had an incredible time and many of the ladies stayed hours late applying gold and silver temporary tattoos and drinking wine/tea! We will paint outside, circle, do ritual, and work in my workshop/studio space. The estate is 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. If there is time, the group can decide on their own if they wish to go out downtown for dinner and take in sights.

The workshop will take commence Saturday morning – Sunday in the late afternoon. You will want to secure your own lodging based on your budget needs and desires! Asheville boasts a variety of hotels, BnB’s (some in historic Montford, which is walking distance to downtown), or you could also go the AirBnB or VRBO or hostel route. (Alena can always help you decide if you wish to contact her). For dinner (as an option), you can go out to eat at the delicious and varied restaurants in town! The downtown area absolutely comes alive in the evening on the weekends – with artists, buskers, and street performers! It truly is such pure delight to live in this fine city (named Happiest City in America and top place to visit in USA by Frommers and Good Morning America). Expect the unexpected and allow surprise and fascination to occur for yourself for this long weekend! It’s going to be so such a delight. (Please note: lodging and all meals besides lunch not included in workshop fee).

About the workshop:

Through guided exercises and visual examples, you will choose a symbolic symbol of animal totem, flower-like botanicals, or tree to represent your intention and heart’s desire, along with working from a face on one of the day’s to create a muse-like queen. You will be able to draw and paint your subject matter along with painting with a variety of media. There is much power and healing that comes from painting in this way, which can serve as a potent and loving symbol and reminder for your life that emanates truth and purity. All materials will be included for a small fee, except surfaces to paint on (you will bring those based on Alena’s suggestions). We will be working on both easels and doing some table work. At the end of the experience, you will walk away with one to two treasured paintings that not only have personal meaning, but are full of technique-based learning along with tapping into your intuition and soul-guides. This workshop is amazing for building depth to your portfolio, while increasing your knowledge on how to make gorgeous work. Alena will be sharing a lot of her tips and secrets with you, all the while going deep into our sweet soul work.

A few more details:

If you are flying, you will want to fly into either the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), or Charlotte, NC (CLT) which is 2 hours away, or Greenville, SC (GSP) which is an hour and 20 minutes away. Please choose lodging in the Asheville or Fairview, NC area, which is very easy to get around.
